May we never lose our passion for peace and justice

white-and-red-poppies

One of the prayers at today’s Remembrance Sunday Service in Exeter’s Northernhay Gardens seems to be a reflection on my decision to wear the white poppy alongside a red one.

Lord of the nations, today we see conficts across the globe where brave soldiers struggle to stand against the forces of evil, where civilians are used as human shields, where power is exercised without restraint or moral guidance.  Tear down the citadels of pride and anger which divide the nations that we may build a better future, a world in which we rejoice in one another, celebrate our differences and build a common good where all can flourish.

Lord of the nations

May we never lose our passion for peace and justice
